Terms of Service

INTRODUCTION

By registering for any Ego Sum Lux journey, event, or experience, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Additionally, please be aware that there may be supplementary terms and conditions from partnering travel agencies which will be provided to you via email upon your registration.

1. BOOKING AND PAYMENT

1.1 Registration Process

• All participants must complete an application interview prior to final acceptance for any journey.

• Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit and written confirmation from Ego Sum Lux.

1.2 Payment Terms

• A non-refundable deposit of €555 is required to secure your place on any journey.

• Full payment is due 60 days prior to the journey start date unless otherwise specified.

• For journeys booked less than 60 days before departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.

1.3 Refund Policy

• A refundable amount of €1,111 will be available until 60 days before the journey start date.

• After this date, all payments become non-refundable due to the upfront costs associated with the journey.

• In exceptional circumstances, at the sole discretion of Ego Sum Lux, partial refunds or credit toward future journeys may be considered.

2. JOURNEY INCLUSIONS AND EXCLUSIONS

2.1 Inclusions

• Accommodations as specified in the journey description (typically 4-5 star hotels)

• Meals as specified in the journey description

• Local transportation during the journey

• All ceremonial activities, workshops, and group experiences as outlined in the itinerary

• Pre-journey preparation materials and post-journey integration support

2.2 Exclusions

• Flight tickets to and from the destination country

• Visa fees and entry requirements (for Egypt: typically 25 USD/€ paid upon arrival)

• Travel insurance (highly recommended)

• Personal expenses and souvenirs

• Activities undertaken during designated free time

• Any services not specifically listed as included in the journey description

3. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Travel Documents

• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have valid travel documents, including passports with at least six months validity beyond your journey dates.

• You must comply with all entry requirements for the destination country.

3.2 Health and Fitness

• You must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions or health concerns prior to booking.

• You warrant that you have the basic physical fitness required for the journey as specified in the journey description.

• Ego Sum Lux reserves the right to refuse participation if it is determined that your health condition may pose a risk to yourself or others.

3.3 Liability for Damages

• In the event that any damage is caused by you during the journey, you will be solely responsible for covering all associated costs.

• This includes damage to accommodations, ceremonial sites, transportation vehicles, or any other facilities used during the journey.

4. JOURNEY MODIFICATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS

4.1 Modifications by Ego Sum Lux

• We reserve the right to make last-minute adjustments to the itinerary in response to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather conditions, political instability, or access restrictions to sacred sites.

• Participants will be promptly notified of any such changes.

• Where possible, equivalent alternative experiences will be provided.

4.2 Cancellation by Ego Sum Lux

• In rare circumstances, Ego Sum Lux may need to cancel a journey due to insufficient participants, force majeure events, or other unforeseeable circumstances.

• In such cases, participants will receive a full refund of payments made to Ego Sum Lux, excluding expenses already incurred that cannot be recovered.

• Ego Sum Lux is not responsible for any incidental expenses incurred by participants, such as visa costs, travel insurance, or non-refundable flight tickets.

4.3 Cancellation by Participant

• All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Ego Sum Lux.

• Cancellation fees will apply as follows:

  • More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit (€555)

  • 59-30 days before departure: 50% of total journey cost

  • 29-0 days before departure: 100% of total journey cost

5. SPIRITUAL PRACTICES AND PARTICIPANT CONDUCT

5.1 Nature of Spiritual Experiences

• Ego Sum Lux journeys involve spiritual practices, ceremonies, and experiences that may differ from conventional tourism.

• While we create the conditions for transformative experiences, we cannot guarantee specific spiritual outcomes or experiences.

• The intensity of participation in spiritual practices is voluntary, and participants determine their own level of engagement.

5.2 Participant Conduct

• Participants agree to conduct themselves with respect for local customs, traditions, and sacred sites.

• Disruptive behavior that negatively impacts the group experience may result in exclusion from certain activities or, in extreme cases, removal from the journey without refund.

• Participants agree to follow the guidance of Ego Sum Lux facilitators regarding appropriate conduct at sacred sites.

6. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

6.1 Limitation of Liability

While Ego Sum Lux takes all reasonable care to ensure the safety and well-being of participants, we cannot accept liability for any illness, injury, death, loss, damage, expense, cost, or other claim of any description resulting from:

• The acts or omissions of third parties who are not directly employed by Ego Sum Lux

• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

• Participant's failure to take reasonable care of themselves or follow reasonable instructions

6.2 Travel Insurance

• Travel insurance is highly recommended for all participants.

• Insurance should cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal liability.

• Ego Sum Lux uses registered hotels, transportation, and guides that are recognized by insurance companies worldwide.

7. PRIVACY AND MEDIA

7.1 Privacy Policy

• Personal information provided during registration will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

• We collect only information necessary for the safe and effective facilitation of your journey.

7.2 Media Consent

• During journeys, photographs and videos may be taken for documentational, educational, and promotional purposes.

• By participating in an Ego Sum Lux journey, you grant permission for your likeness to be used in Ego Sum Lux materials unless you explicitly opt out in writing prior to the journey.

8. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

8.1 Governing Law

• These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of United Sates of America.

8.2 Dispute Resolution

• Any dispute arising from these terms or your participation in an Ego Sum Lux journey shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation.

• If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to mediation before resorting to legal proceedings.

9. ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By registering for an Ego Sum Lux journey, you acknowledge that:

• You have read and agreed to these Terms of Service

• You understand the spiritual nature of the experiences offered

• You accept responsibility for your own well-being during the journey

• You recognize that transformation requires your active participation and integration
